Wood Pellet Production Line in Latvia
We supplied a custom wood pellet production line for a biomass energy company in Latvia, capable of 3.5–4 tons per hour. The raw material is wet wood chips at 45% moisture. This line includes crushing, dust collection, drying, storage, pelleting, cooling and screening. Fully automated, it is simple to operate and runs reliably.
Project Overview
√
Core Requirement
The customer wants to turn wood offcuts recycled from timber processing plants into pellet fuel for sale. They hired us to provide a full production line solution, and we take full charge of equipment fabrication, installation and commissioning.
√
Raw Material
Wood shavings, small wood chips, sawdust and other offcuts from timber processing plants. The initial moisture content is 45%, which needs to be reduced to around 8% for convenient storage and pelleting.
√
Finished Product Requirement
Wood pellet fuel with a diameter of 6–8 mm and length of 4–6 cm. The pellets shall comply with ENplus A1 certification and ISO standards.
√
Automatic Control
The entire line utilizes centralized PLC-based automatic control, enabling interlocked, automated operation across all process stages—from raw material feeding, crushing, drying, and dry material storage to granulation, cooling, screening, and finished product packaging.
√
Production Line Price
$785,110 USD. This includes costs for the complete system design, equipment manufacturing, installation, and more.
Customized Wood Pellet Production Line in Latvia
This wood pellet production line in Latvia utilizes centralized automatic PLC control and is designed for an output capacity of 3–4 tons per hour. It encompasses the complete process—including raw material crushing, drying, powder storage, pelletizing, cooling, screening, and finished product packaging—and is capable of processing wood waste with a moisture content of up to 45%.

Magnetic separation + crushing + dust removal
Wood waste—such as wood chips, shavings, and sawdust—is loaded into a 10 m³ feed hopper and transported via conveyor belt to the wood hammer mill. An iron remover is installed on the conveyor belt to capture metallic impurities.
The hammer mill reduces the material to a uniform particle size (3–5 mm). The pulverizing process is equipped with a cyclone separator and a pulse-jet bag filter to collect generated dust, thereby improving the workshop environment and meeting environmental protection standards.
Drying (moisture content reduced from 45% to 8%)
The moisture content of the customer’s raw materials is about 45%. The moisture content is high, so it cannot be directly pelleted and is not conducive to storage. Therefore, we equipped our customers with a wood drying machine that can accurately control the moisture content of raw materials.
The crushed wet materials enter the dryer and exchange heat with the hot air in countercurrent flow, and the moisture content is quickly reduced to 8%. The discharge is equipped with a cyclone dust collector to collect fine dust in the drying exhaust gas, and the exhaust gas meets the emission standards.
The client selected a biomass furnace as the heat source; this allows for the use of self-produced biomass fuel—such as scraps and pellets—thereby reducing operating costs. A flame arrester is included to ensure fire and explosion safety in the drying section.
Dried Sawdust Storage
After the drying stage, a large-capacity (40 m³) dry powder storage silo is installed to store the dried sawdust that meets quality standards. The drying system can operate continuously to build up a stock of dry sawdust. Storing the sawdust in the silo helps stabilize its moisture content, preventing fluctuations that could otherwise compromise the quality of the formed pellets.
Pelletizing
The pelletizing section utilizes two wood pellet machines operating in parallel. This configuration reduces the load on individual units and facilitates maintenance; if one machine undergoes servicing, the other can continue to operate, thereby avoiding production downtime. Additionally, wood pellet output can be flexibly adjusted to meet market demand.
Cooling & Screening
Freshly pressed wood pellets are hot and brittle; they cannot be packaged immediately but must be fed into a counterflow cooler to rapidly cool to room temperature, thereby removing excess moisture and increasing pellet hardness.
The cooled pellets are then passed through a screening machine to remove fines and broken fragments, while the qualified finished pellets are conveyed to the packaging stage. The screened-out fines are returned to the pellet mill for reprocessing, thereby improving raw material utilization and reducing waste.
automatic Packing
Qualified finished products are transferred to the finished product warehouse, where an automatic packaging unit handles automatic weighing, bagging, and bag stitching. The bagged products are then put into storage.

turnkey Project Service
We provide a complete one-stop service — from design to manufacturing, delivery, and after-sales — so that all the customer needs to provide is the raw material information and target output. Our team handles everything else.
Customized Solution Design
Tell me what material you have, how much you want per hour, and your space. We check all that and come back with a real plan — what machines you need, the layout, what to expect. No guesswork, and it’s built around your situation. You don’t pay anything for this step.
Equipment Manufacturing
Once the solution is confirmed, we start building. Every machine gets tested at our factory before shipping — both empty and with material running through it. So what lands at your place is something that’s already proven to work, not a surprise box.
Overseas Logistics & Transportation
Don’t worry about the logistics. We will select the most suitable shipping method (such as sea freight), ensure proper packaging to prevent damage from moisture or rough handling, manage all relevant documentation, and keep you updated on the shipment’s status throughout the process. You can simply sit back and relax, leaving all the details to us.
Installation & Commissioning
You need not worry about equipment installation; we will dispatch professional engineers to the site to assist with the process. Once the equipment is in place, we will carry out power-up commissioning, parameter optimization, and trial production to ensure stable operation from the very start.
After-Sales Service
We provide a one-year warranty. During the warranty period, we offer free on-site repairs for any equipment malfunctions not caused by human error. Additionally, we conduct regular inspections to ensure the long-term, stable operation of the production line. We provide ongoing support, including spare parts, consumables, and capacity upgrade consultations, and are ready to respond to any issues at any time.
