Recently delivered projects
Below are some of our recently delivered wood pellet processing projects. Our clients have diverse needs; some entrust us with planning complete production lines, while others only require the purchase of the sawdust pellet machine. Furthermore, the raw materials used by our clients vary significantly: some clients have wood chips with excessively high moisture content, necessitating a drying process; others’ raw materials contain bark or waste wood planks, requiring pre-crushing. Having cultivated expertise in biomass pelletizing machinery manufacturing for many years, we can tailor solutions to your specific production conditions.

0.2-0.3 T/H Sawdust Pellet Production Line in Congo
The client plans to utilize the large quantities of sawdust, wood chips, and scraps generated by local sawmills and furniture manufacturers to produce pellet fuel.
Due to limited space and a tight budget, the client’s facility is equipped with only the most basic equipment, including a pellet mill, cooler, and baler.

1.8-2 T/H Sawdust Pellet Production Line in Indonesia
In addition to sawdust, the customer’s raw materials also include palm shells and empty fruit bunches. Due to the hot and humid local climate, the raw materials have a high moisture content.
In order to improve the pelleting rate, in addition to basic equipment such as crushers, pellet mills, and coolers, we also provided the customer with a drum dryer, which can reduce the moisture content of the raw materials to about 10%-12% before pelleting.

2-2.5 T/H Beech Sawdust Pellet Production Line in Romania
The customer’s main raw materials are beech wood chips and bark, with a moisture content of 20%-30%, requiring drying before pelleting. Due to factory space limitations, we adopted a segmented production line layout for them.
Furthermore, our equipment is CE and ISO9001 certified and complies with EU machinery regulations.

2.5-3 T/H Sawdust Pellet Mill for Sale Canada
The client’s previous wood pellet mill frequently malfunctioned; consequently, they sought to replace it with a machine that offered stable operation.
In response, we recommended the MZLH ring-die sawdust pelletizer. This model features a gear-driven mechanism and is equipped with a Siemens motor, ensuring the stable and reliable operation of the equipment.

6-8 T/H Wood Waste Pelletizing Project in USA
This American client’s main raw material is waste wood from furniture manufacturers and wood processing plants. This waste wood is large in size and contains nails, so we added wood chipping and impurity removal processes when designing the production line.
To ensure continuous production throughout the year, we adopted a design with four wood waste pellet mills operating in parallel. When one machine is shut down for maintenance, the others can continue to operate.

20T/H Sawdust Pelletizing Project in Bangladesh
The customer’s raw materials include not only sawdust but also agricultural waste such as rice husks and jute stalks.
To meet the production demand of 20 tons per hour, we configured three high-power sawdust pellet makers to operate in tandem, avoiding prolonged high loads on any individual piece of equipment.
Furthermore, the entire line is equipped with PLC automatic control, which can automatically control equipment start-up and shutdown and monitor equipment operating status in real time.
Why Choose RICHI Machinery
The RICHI sawdust pellet machine features an optimized design of key components—including the ring die, press rollers, cutter assembly, transmission system, and feeding mechanism—all of which have been specifically customized to suit the unique characteristics of sawdust.

Wear-Resistant Ring Dies and Press Rollers
The ring dies and press rollers manufactured using 42CrMo wear-resistant alloy steel. Furthermore, through the application of an advanced carburizing heat treatment process, these components exhibit exceptional wear resistance and offer an extended service life. Additionally, the ring dies are available in a wide variety of aperture specifications, enabling them to be tailored to suit diverse production requirements.

Carbide Steel Cutter
The cutter blades on RICHI sawdust pellet press are crafted from hard alloy steel, offering a long service life that minimizes the inconvenience of frequent replacements. Furthermore, operators can easily adjust the clearance between the cutter and the outer surface of the ring die to produce pellets of varying lengths.

Heavy-Duty Gear Transmission System
Our sawdust pellet making machine uses gear drive, which is 15%-20% more efficient than belt drive. Both gears and gear shafts are manufactured using high-precision processes, including carburizing, quenching, and precision grinding of the hardened tooth surfaces, resulting in low noise and exceptional durability.

Variable-Frequency Differential Feeder
Our sawdust pelletizer features a variable-frequency feeder paired with a forced-feeding mechanism, ensuring that material enters the pelletizing chamber uniformly and smoothly while preventing blockages caused by voltage fluctuations or uneven material flow. In addition, we install an anti‑bridging device to stop material bridging.

how to make wood pellets from sawdust
Making wood pellets from sawdust is not a simple pressing process, but a systematic engineering project that integrates multiple steps such as crushing, drying, pelletizing, and cooling. The following is a standard wood pellet production process for your reference.

01
Cleaning Process
First, use an iron remover to remove impurities (such as stones, metal, etc.) from the sawdust.
02
Coarse Crushing Process
For large scraps (logs, bark, planks, etc.), first cut them into small pieces of wood, 3-5cm in size, then grind them.
03
Fine Grinding Process
Use a wood hammer mill to rind small wood chips into fine sawdust, facilitating subsequent pelletizing.
04
Drying Process
If the raw materials have an excessively high moisture content, they must first be dried to reduce the moisture level to approximately 10% before proceeding with pelleting.
05
pelletizing Process
Feed the sawdust into the sawdust pellet maker for compaction.
06
Cooling Process
Use a counterflow cooler to cool the freshly pressed sawdust pellets to room temperature, thereby enhancing their hardness and stability.
07
Screening process
The vibrating screen separates powder and substandard sawdust pellets, ensuring uniform product size.
08
Packing Process
Use an packaging machine to weigh and bag the finished sawdust pellets.

Frequently Asked Questions
What types of sawdust can your sawdust pellet machine process?
Our sawdust pellet machine can process wood chips from various tree species, such as pine, fir, oak, maple, and cypress.
My raw materials include not only sawdust, but also wood shavings, veneer, and wood strips. How should I process them?
Regardless of the form of your wood raw materials, they can be pelletized after being crushed. For large pieces of wood waste, you can first use a drum chipper to cut them into small chips, and then use a hammer mill to grind them into fine powder.
Can you provide a complete wood pellet production line design solution?
Certainly. We can custom-tailor a wood pellet production line for you based on factors such as your production scale, raw material characteristics, and investment budget. The complete production line typically comprises: a crushing system, drying system, granulation system, cooling system, screening system, packaging system, conveying system, and dust removal system.
Do the sawdust need to be dried before pelleting?
This mainly depends on the moisture content of your raw materials. The optimal moisture content of the raw materials is usually required to be controlled between 10% and 12%. If the sawdust is too wet, it can easily cause the pressure rollers to slip, the mold to clog, and the resulting pellets to have a rough surface and be prone to crumbling. If the moisture content is too low, the lignin will not be able to soften sufficiently to exert its binding properties, making the pellets difficult to form or resulting in a brittle texture after forming.
What is the warranty period for your sawdust pellet machine?
We offer a one-year warranty. During the warranty period, should the machine experience any non-human-induced malfunctions, we will dispatch an engineer to your location to perform the necessary repairs. (View our YouTube)
