The straw, stalk, wood chips, grass, sawdust and other waste materials from agriculture and forestry can be seen everywhere and can be turned into treasure through the process of crushing, drying, mixing, extruding, cooling and so on, turning them into a new type of clean fuel that can be burned directly – wood pellet fuel. So how can we ensure that the pellets made by the wood pellet mill machine is a high-quality biomass pellets? The following factors that affect the quality of the pellet making machine can not be ignored.
The factors that influence the pelletizing quality of wood pellets are as follows:
the type of raw materials
The type of raw materials will directly affect the quality of molding. Different raw materials finished particles of density, strength and calorific value will be different. And the type of raw material will also affect the granulator and the output and power consumption. For example, if the raw material is pure wood chips, the output of MZLH320 model is 300-400kg/h. But if the raw material is grass, straw type, the output can be up to 600-800kg/h.
raw material size
We all know that the raw material should be crushed before entering the wood chip pelletizer. That is because the raw material is too big and easy to enter the inside of the pelletizer, and the size of the raw material will also affect the efficiency of the pelletizer and the quality of the wood chip pellets.
If the size of the biomass raw material is too large, the wood pellet mill will not be able to work effectively, not to mention the granulation effect. And the energy consumption is large, the output is small, causing waste and increasing cost. This is of course a situation we do not want to see. However, the particle size of biomass raw materials should not be too small, which will increase the energy consumption of the crushing process and also cause energy waste. Generally speaking, crushing the raw material to 2-3mm size is ok.

Raw material moisture content is best at about 15%. Molding temperature is an important factor affecting the molding of biomass particles. Too high temperature will cause carbonization of the material and pellet surface. In addition, it wil shorten the service life of the roller bearing, so the heating temperature of granulation should be adjusted to a reasonable range.
