We already know that wood chip pellet maker is a machine that presses wood, logs, sawdust, and other materials into 6-12mm wood pellets. Then what does it consist of? I will introduce you the main parts of the wood pellet machine below.
The main parts of the wood chip pellet machine
It is mainly composed of anti-caking bin, forced feeder, pelletizing chamber, ring die and roller, cutting device, and motor.
Anti-caking bin
The wood chips are light, poorly flowing and caked easily. Considering that, we designed the unique bin: Anti-caking bin. This ensures that you can feed the wood chips smoothly, and prevent the wood chips from caking.
The wood pellet will are also equipped with a protection device to reduce the damage of the machine, and prolong the service life of the wood pellet machine.
Forced feeder
The feeder can convey the wood chips to the inside of the pelletizing chamber. We know that the wood chips are light, so it is difficult to enter the pelletizing chamber, so they need to be pushed into the pelletizing chamber through a forced feeder. So we equip a force feeder with the pellet mill for wood pellets, to make the pelletizing process normal working. It can ensure the wood chips to enter the pelletizing chamber smoothly.
Pelletizing chamber
The wood chips are extruded into wood pellets through the pressure between the ring die and rollers in the pelletizing chamber.
One thing to note is that the pelletizing chamber has requirements for fineness and moisture content of wood chips. So wood chips need to be crushed to a fineness of 2-3mm, and dried to a moisture content of about 15% in order to make wood pellet.
Ring die and roller
The ring die and roller are made of 304 stainless steel, and can avoid contamination of raw materials due to equipment corrosion. The mold of the ring die can be changed according to your need to produce different size of the wood pellets.
Cutting device
By adjusting the distance between the cutter and ring die to get the different lengths of final pellets. The wood pellet machine is equipped with one cutter, and can make longer finished pellets.
Motor
Because of the raw materials characteristics,making wood pellets requires greater pressing force. We use Siemens Class 8 motors, which have low speed and high power.

How does a wood pellet machine work?
Transfer the materials to the pelletizing room through the adjustable feeder. The wood pellets are finally formed under the strong extrusion between the ring die and the press rollers. Then cut into the desired length by the cutter. Changing the ring die can adjust the diameter size of the final wood pellets.

The working process of wood chip pellet plant
The production process of wood pellet line mainly include 5 steps: wood chipping, wood crushing, wood drying, wood pelletizing, wood pellet cooling. The following is the flow chart of 8-10 t/h biomass pellet production line for your reference.
01 Wood chipping system
Firstly, put the wood materials to the wood chipper through screw conveyor and to do the chipping section. Then feed them to the crushing section.
02 Wood crushing system
After chipping, the wood chips enter into the wood hammer mill through the screw conveyor.
03 Wood drying system
After crushing , the crushed material enters the storage bin for storage through wind transportation system, and wait for drying ; the materials in the storage bin for drying enter the dryer through conveyor for drying, After that, they will be delivered to next section .
04 Wood pelletiizng system
After drying, the materials are conveyed to the pelletiizng section through screw conveyors; the material is fed via a frequency-controlled impeller feeder, then enters the extruding chamber for pelletizing. After pelletizing, the material through crimping conveyor into the storage bin for storage. Then the wood pellets will be loaded by customized conveyor to next section .
05 Wood pellet cooling
The stored materials through customized conveyor into the wood pellet cooling machine for cooling. The temperature and humidity of the pressed pellet are relatively high, so we need to cool them. This step mainly involves cooling the newly pressed pellet to room temperature.
