Introduction to stainless steel mixers
RICHI Machinery considers that every industry and every customer has unique mixing needs, and has designed a variety of stainless steel mixer models for you to choose from. Among them, the SLHJ series single-shaft double-layer paddle mixer and the SLHSJ series double-shaft paddle mixer are our best-selling products. To date, these two stainless steel mixer models have been sold to over 140 countries worldwide, with sales exceeding 300 units and receiving very reliable market feedback. The following is a brief introduction to the stainless steel mixer:
What is a stainless steel mixer?
A stainless mixer is a type of mixing equipment mostly made out of stainless steel, specifically designed to uniformly mix materials in various forms.
Compared with carbon-steel units, its core advantage lies in food-grade or industrial-grade stainless steel. The surface is dense and non-flaking, resistant to acid, alkali and high temperature, and hardly wears after long runs. Material is not contaminated by rust or paint, equipment life is doubled, and a simple water rinse is enough for cleaning—maintenance is easier.
How does a stainless steel mixer work?
From a functional point of view, the stainless mixer mainly works through mechanical stirring and blade rotation. Its core function is to utilize the thrust generated by the rotating blades to continuously collide and mix materials within the sealed stainless steel chamber.
Regardless of whether it’s powdery or granular raw materials, as well as flake, block, and viscous materials in the feed, chemical, and food industries, as long as it’s two or more materials of different properties, it can evenly mix them to ensure the uniform composition and stable performance of the mixed materials.

stainless steel mixer Parameters and Classification
There are several types of stainless steel mixing machines, sorted by their structure design and working way. The SLHJ series single-shaft dual-layer paddle mixers, SLHY series single shaft double screw mixer and SLHSJ series dual-shaft high-efficiency paddle mixers are especially commonly used. Each has its own advantages, and their key parameters are adjusted to match different production requirements. Let’s take a closer look:

SLHJ Series Single-Shaft Dual-Layer Paddle Mixer
Structurally, this mixer comes with a single agitating shaft, along with parts like a machine housing, a cover, a discharge mechanism, a motor reducer, a transmission mechanism, and an air outlet.
When it operates, the shaft drives the paddles to turn materials over repeatedly, which finally makes the materials mix uniformly. The motor is connected directly, and the mixer is available in two materials: carbon steel and stainless steel. For example, the SLHJ1B and SLHJ2B models are stainless steel ones—this covers the material demands of different industries.
The effective volume of its models ranges from 1 to 6 cubic meters, and the amount of materials it can mix per batch is 500 to 3,000 kg accordingly. The power of these models is between 11 kW and 55 kW.
It’s designed to be compact, so it doesn’t take up much space—perfect for factories where room is tight. When it mixes materials, it works gently, so it won’t crush them. That’s why it’s great for mixing feed, chemicals, organic fertilizers, and other viscous stuff. If you need to keep these materials in their original state, this mixer does the job really well.

SLHSJ Series Twin-Shaft Paddle Mixer
This mixer is different from single-shaft ones—it has two parallel agitator shafts, with blades placed in a staggered pattern on each shaft. When it works, the two shafts turn in opposite directions, producing strong shear, convection, and diffusion power. This lets materials mix evenly quickly.
This mixer uses a chain to connect the motor, and there are two material options: carbon steel and stainless steel. Like the SLHSJ0.5B and SLHSJ1.0B models—they’re made of stainless steel, so they can meet different needs for cleanliness and rust resistance.
Its specs work well for small to medium-sized production: the effective volume goes from 0.5 to 4 cubic meters, each batch can mix 250 to 2000 kg of materials, and the power is between 5.5 and 30 kW. Compared to single-shaft mixers, it’s better at mixing efficiently—even if you’re using the same material, it gets evenly mixed in less time.
Besides, with the twin-shaft design, materials won’t stick to the inside walls of the machine. This means you waste less material, and cleaning after using it is simpler. It works really well for areas that require accurate mixing, such as the food and drug industries.

Frequently Ask Question
Frequently Ask Question
What advantage does stainless steel have over carbon steel?
Stainless resists rust, tolerates high heat and cleans in minutes. Carbon steel can flake and stain; it suits jobs where hygiene is less critical. Stainless is also non-magnetic and will not shed particles into food or pharmaceutical batches.
Single-shaft or double-shaft – which stainless model do I pick?
Single-shaft costs less and works for small batches. Double-shaft mixes faster and gives CV ≤ 3 %, but costs more and needs more floor space. If you need short mixing cycles or handle sticky powders, choose double-shaft.
Can the mixer handle wet material?
Yes. Stainless withstands moisture and sticky pastes. Rinse and dry after each shift to stop lumps or surface spots forming. For very wet pastes, consider a ribbon or paddle with scraper blades.
Can capacity be adjusted later?
Within limits – change speed, mix time or paddle angle. For a big jump, move up a model or add a second unit. Always check motor amp draw after any speed change to avoid overload.
