Working principle of dry type fish feed extruder
The core working principle of dry type fish feed extruder is to use the main shaft to drive the screw, so that the raw materials are subjected to high temperature, high pressure and high shear force between the screw and the screw sleeve, and ripen, expand and form. Specifically, after the material enters the spiral cavity through the feed port, it gradually heats up due to mechanical friction and compression, starch gelatinizes, and protein denatures, which improves the palatability and digestibility of the feed.
When the material reaches the front end of the mold, it is extruded under high pressure and immediately cut into pellets. The angle and speed of the cutter can be freely adjusted to control the length of the pellets. No additional steam support is required during the whole process. The heat energy comes from the mechanical energy conversion generated by the equipment itself, which is easy to operate and has low energy consumption.

Fish feed production process details:

01 Raw material storage and transportation
Raw materials such as rice bran, soybean meal, and corn are stored in silos and transported to the processing site through a belt conveyor system. Proper storage can prevent contamination and ensure feed quality.
02 Receiving and pre-cleaning
Raw materials are delivered in the form of powder or granules. Powder can be directly delivered to the batching bin, while granules need to be coarsely ground. Pre-cleaning equipment can remove impurities to ensure the safety and quality of the feed.
03 First batching and mixing
The main raw materials are weighed using an electronic batching scale and then sent to the primary mixing. This step helps reduce pellet size differences and prepares the feed for further grinding.
04 Secondary pulverization
Aquatic animals have weak digestive systems, so the feed must be pulverized again. After the second pulverization, the feed passes through a rotary grading screen to remove crude fiber.
05 Secondary mixing
All raw materials are re-dosed and sent to the second-stage mixer, where micronutrients and liquids (such as oil or enzymes) are added to maintain nutritional balance.
06 Conditioning and extrusion
This is the core process. The dry extruder cooks the feed at high temperature and pressure without adding steam. The extruded pellets expand and float on the water surface. This stage is essential for starch gelatinization, improving protein digestibility and improving palatability.
07 Drying, cooling and screening
The hot pellets are sent to the dryer to reduce the moisture content, and then to the cooler to stabilize the shape and prevent mold. After that, the sifter removes pellets that are too large or too small.
08 Product classification and packaging
The cooled pellets are classified using a grading screen and then sent to the packaging machine. The finished product is weighed and packed into bags, ready for shipping or storage.
