These three videos show our EFB pelleting solutions designed for different clients.The first customer from Nigeria runs a small palm‑processing workshop on a tight budget. Its raw materials are palm kernel shells and EFB, sun‑dried on‑site by the client. We only supplied the crusher, small pellet mill and post‑processing units. For the second Indonesian customer, we provided him with three EFB pellet mills to meet his demand of 6-8 tons per hour. The third client in Thailand is a palm‑oil mill group. Its fresh feedstock contains 50‑60% moisture. Finished pellets are partly for internal plant use and partly for external sales.

EFB Pellet Production Process
The process for pelleting empty fruit branches is not static. Different raw material moisture contents, raw material forms, and the intended use of the finished pellets require different processing techniques. For example, if the raw material is a mixture of different palm waste materials, the palm waste must first be crushed to 3-5mm. If the raw material has a high moisture content (>20%), it usually needs to be dried first.
Therefore, we customize optimal EFB pellet production lines based on customers’ specific raw material properties and finished product application requirements.

Can your EFB pellet mill directly process raw materials with a moisture content of 60% or more?

No, it cannot be pelletized directly. EFB must first be shredded and dried to reduce the moisture content to 12%–15% before entering the pellet mill. We can provide complete pretreatment solutions.
How many tons per hour can an EFB pellet mill produce? Is the output stable?

Depending on the model, the stable hourly output of a single EFB pellet mill is generally 0.2-4 tons. Actual output is affected by the effectiveness of raw material pretreatment, moisture content, and operational factors.
Is the equipment prone to clogging? How can this be prevented?

EFB fibers are long and easily entangled, which can lead to blockage if pretreatment is insufficient. We employ variable frequency forced feeding, overload protection, and anti-entanglement shredding design, and recommend configuring pretreatment equipment such as magnetic separators and crushers before the pellet machine, which can significantly reduce the risk of material blockage.
Do I need to buy drying and crushing equipment when I buy an EFB pelleting machine?

This depends on your raw material. If the raw material is uncrushed and has a high moisture content, then it needs to be crushed and dried; otherwise, the pellet mill will not operate stably. We can provide you with a complete production line solution.
Can palm shells or palm fibers be processed simultaneously?

Yes. We recommend a “separate pretreatment, combined pelleting” approach. For example, shred and dry EFB (palm fiber), crush palm shells separately, and then mix them in a proportion before feeding them into the EFB pellet making machine.
What is the approximate investment for an entire EFB pelleting line?

Taking a complete 2-3T/H production line as an example (including shredding, drying, pelleting, cooling, screening, and packaging), the investment typically ranges from US$110,000 to US$270,000, depending on the configuration, level of automation, and materials used. We can customize a solution based on your production capacity and budget.
