This 15-ton/hour feed production line in Uganda utilizes a simplified process flow. The overall production process is as follows: raw material feeding → pelletizing and shaping → vibrating screening → cooling → finished product storage → automatic packaging → finished product warehousing. Although it is an economical configuration, this production line covers all the necessary steps in feed processing and is fully capable of producing standard-compliant pellet feed.

Process Flow of 15 T/H Animal Feed Production Line In Uganda

The pre-mixed raw materials (corn flour, soybean meal, wheat bran, grass meal, etc.) are temporarily stored in a silo. Sensors at the bottom of the silo automatically control the flow rate of the raw materials, ensuring continuous and stable operation of the pellet mill, preventing fluctuations in speed or blockages.

This is the core section of the entire production line. The powdered raw materials first enter the conditioner, where they are conditioned by adding steam to increase their temperature and humidity, causing the starch to gelatinize. The conditioned raw materials then enter the pellet mill, where they are compressed into cylindrical pellets under high temperature and pressure from the ring die and rollers. The pellets have a diameter of 3-8 mm and a length of 10-15 mm.

The pellets coming out of the pellet mill are not all the same size; some are too large, and some are broken. The vibrating screen has two layers of mesh. The upper layer screens out the oversized pellets, and the lower layer screens out the powder and broken pieces. The unqualified pellets are sent back to the pellet mill for re-processing, while the qualified pellets continue to the cooling section.

Newly produced pellets have a temperature of 90-110 degrees Celsius and high humidity; direct packaging would lead to mold and spoilage. The cooling machine quickly cools the pellets to room temperature in 10-15 minutes, simultaneously reducing moisture content and hardening the pellets for easier storage and transportation. Dust and water vapor are generated during the cooling process, and a cyclone separator collects them to keep the workshop clean.

The cooled granules are stored in this silo. The silo has two sensors, one at the top and one at the bottom, constantly monitoring the amount of material inside. When the silo is almost full, the top sensor sends a signal to stop the feeding process. When the silo is almost empty, the bottom sensor signals that more material is needed. When feeding the packaging machine, a pneumatic valve precisely controls the flow rate to ensure stable operation of the packaging machine.
